“Though we have always played music together and dreamed of having a band since preschool, we have never performed under a name or considered recording an album until that faithful day school was canceled. I was absolutely confused as to what I was doing because I was using Eric’s equipment to record, and my limited knowledge of recording was from Kevin’s attempts to record our Telemetrics albums. The songs were essentially made up on the spot, and recording problems caused the final product to be in mono. Nonetheless, despite those potentially threatening issues, the album was released the same day.” -Nic Ross, 2009

2. Fancy Linens (5:30)

The eponymous track is essentially a composite piece, utilizing the framework of Burroughs cut-ups and Holger Czukay’s tape splicing experiments with CAN. It features vocal samples quelled from the last tape recording made at Jonestown. Babies crying, Jim Jones speaking of a revolutionary suicide, and various other creepy things.
Track two is an early edit of the first track, without vocal samples
Track three is the second part of a late night, 45-minute long jam session in Kevin McCraney’s basement with people coming and going at various intervals. The core band was Dan Powers on guitar, Caleb Miller on drums, and Kevin McCraney on bass. Garrett Barboza was on keyboards and recording level monitoring.
Track four is a solo four-track recording of Kevin McCraney experimenting with echo, reverb, and solo bass work. It was later mixed with the second track and became part of the first. This is quite possibly the earliest solo recording of Kevin.
